So what usually happens when you take a literature course? You read a bunch of books,
maybe some poetry, a few essays. You take an exam now and then. And you write a paper.
It doesn't have to be that way, not completely, anyway. You've got to read, of course
(after all, it is a literature course). But who says you have to write a paper to prove
that you've gotten something out of the material?
The last few semesters, some students have opted to skip the term paper in favor of actually
